Offshore Fishing Charter San Diego

Leave the coastline behind and fish the blue water the way it’s meant to be fished.

Past the shelf, into blue water, where the real pelagic fishing begins.

At some point, the coastline isn’t enough. You want to push past the shelf, get into blue water, and fish for the species that live out there, tuna, dorado, yellowtail, and whatever else is running in the current. Our Offshore Charter is built for exactly that.

Two formats available:

Both run private charters out of San Diego on vessels specifically equipped for extended offshore work. This is serious fishing.

This is a Private Charter

Your group, your boat, your experience. No strangers, no party boat crowds, no waiting around. Just you and your crew on a fully equipped vessel working San Diego’s shoreline.

What the Offshore Charter Targets

San Diego’s offshore waters hold multiple world-class species, depending on the season.

Albacore Tuna

Bluefin Tuna

Dorado

Yellowtail

Albacore tuna show in late spring and summer. When they’re here, the fishing is relentless, and albacore are ideal table fare. Bluefin tuna are now a legitimate year-round possibility in San Diego’s offshore water, with peak activity typically in warmer months. Dorado show in late summer and fall and are one of the most visually spectacular game fish in the Pacific. Yellowtail push offshore during certain conditions and will burn drag on any tackle not set up properly.

When the plan is serious fishing in serious water.

Your captain runs bait reports, SST charts, and local intel daily. When you book an Offshore Charter with us, you’re not going out and hoping something shows up. You’re fishing with current information and a game plan.

3/4 Day vs. Full Day Offshore

3/4 Day Offshore Charter

9 Hours

The 3/4 Day Offshore Charter at 9 hours gives you meaningful time in open water. At 18–27 knot cruising speeds, Brothers Sport Fishing vessels cover the distance to quality offshore grounds without burning too much of your fishing clock. This is the right format when the fish are relatively close, when you want offshore action without a full day commitment, or when conditions are good and you just want to go out and light something up.

Full Day Offshore Charter

12 Hours

The Full Day Offshore Charter at 12 hours is for when the fish are further out, when you want to maximise time on target water, or when you just want to go as far as it takes and fish until the sun starts to drop. Three additional hours make a significant difference offshore – it can mean the difference between a good day and a great one when the conditions are right.

This trip runs on our full fleet – 23 Parker, 25 Bahia, and 28 Parker. Yamaha outboards deliver 18-27 knot cruising speeds. Seeker Rods, Shimano Reels, and Simrad GPS/Sonar/Radar are standard.
