Half-Day Charter San Diego

The sweet spot for anglers who want a real fishing experience without burning an entire day

The Perfect Half-Day Fishing Trip in San Diego

Five and a half hours on the water. Two departure windows. Private boat. This is our Half-Day Charter – and it’s one of the most booked trips we run out of San Diego.

The Half-Day Charter hits the sweet spot for anglers who want a real fishing experience without burning an entire day. Morning departure runs 6:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The afternoon session runs 12:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Both windows put you on productive San Diego coastal water with a captain who knows where the fish are holding right now.

Two departures daily:

Fish the morning bite or run an afternoon session without rearranging your entire schedule.

This is a Private Charter

Your group, your boat, your experience. No strangers, no party boat crowds, no waiting around. Just you and your crew on a fully equipped vessel working San Diego’s shoreline.

What You're Targeting on the Half-Day Charter

San Diego’s coastline holds a wide variety of species throughout the year.

Calico Bass

Halibut

Bonito

Barracuda

Yellowtail

Calico bass are around year-round and will eat on almost any presentation when the water’s right. Halibut set up on sandy transitions and are a consistent target on the Half-Day Charter. Bonito and barracuda show in warmer months and will absolutely smoke light tackle. Yellowtail push into coastal kelp during peak season and will test your drag in a hurry.

A Captain Who Reads the Water

Your captain reads the conditions daily, tide, current, water temp, bait reports, and adjusts the game plan accordingly. This isn’t a fixed route. It’s a dynamic hunt with a guide who takes it personally.

Gear and Vessel

Brothers Sport Fishing runs Yamaha outboards on all vessels. Seeker Rods, Shimano Reels, Simrad GPS/Sonar/Radar, and oversized bait tanks with 3-5 scoop capacity are standard. Your catch is iced immediately on deck – no sitting in a warm fish box. Cruising speeds of 18-27 knots keep transit time minimal.

Oversized Bait Tanks

Extra Cooler Space

Oversized bait tanks keep your live bait in prime condition. Three to five scoop bait capacity means you’re not running thin on ammunition when the fish show up. Your catch gets iced immediately – extra cooler space is standard on every boat.

Safety Above Standards

Safety above U.S. Coast Guard minimums on every Half-Day Charter: commercial life jackets, radar, three VHF radios including an emergency handheld, and an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon).
